Twitter / X is down! So I guess Bluesky is where you go for news about this?!

It's not so much that people are ditching Google for ChatGPT, it's that historically we tried to use search like an agent - asking it questions it couldn't really answer.

Search still has it's place for _search_ though

X's "Today's News" isn't carrying the Epstein emails.

FoxNews has it buried below the fold.

It's wild that so many Americans know what happened, but defend him anyway

There are some things an LLM just cannot do, regardless how long it thinks / times it tries:

- vector shapes (outside of v.basic)
- styling (not based on pre-existing training)
- drag+drop
- 3D meshes of any kind
- Non-human characters in video

Any to add?

Twitter is now showing me wall-to-wall Republican accounts and right wing viewpoints even though I only follow a handful of Republicans.

Presumably this is Musk's rebalancing of "free speech"?

(it's not that the left have all come here either, because the ratio-ing in the comments is almost 100%)

Can someone American explain to me why MAGA believe that thousands of people protesting against them must always be paid actors?

It is ironic that the Republican party is now the party against having a Republic.

Musk claims the democratic will of the people is to establish a dictatorship, and the US constitution is being restrained from fighting back by the cowardice of Republican senators.

COBOL Epoch in 1875.

You'd have thought at least Elon would know this.

And even if he didn't, it should have been obvious to his "genius" coders from experience with UNIX Epoch date issues when they were all the exact same age.

Learned Helplessness is one of the biggest psychological impediments to success in the under privileged.

Example: starting companies with no resources or connections, you have to fail multiple more times before something comes good.

No wonder so few cross the line:

AI cannot program for you any more than it can write a novel for you. It can write _a_ program or _a_ novel, but it does not know what _you_ want to build, or what _you_ want to say.

LLM prompt programming * is simply high level programming * - you use language to describe the system you want 1/5

Can someone American explain to me how insurance and healthcare work together? Don't you have to be fit and well in order to afford insurance?

In the EU if someone gets sick everyone helps you get better; just as we keep people safe by sharing the cost of police.

And it's so much cheaper as tax.

The solution to not enough housing is simply to build.

Even if locals are against changing the look of that field they never look at, or have a vested interest in keeping prices up.
