Also, according to the book The Disney Revolt: when filming the live-action reference, Rub got into conflicts with Geppetto's lead animator Art Babbitt over the character's mannerisms.
Rub said "I've been doing it this way for years." Babbitt said "Yes, and now you're going to do it right!"
