Join us at the James Joyce Centre on Saturday, 6th December at 7pm for a screening of the 1977 film adaptation of 'A Portrait of the Artist'.

This film, directed by Joseph Strick, follows the coming-of-age of Stephen Dedalus at the turn of the 20th century.

Doors open at 6.30pm. Tickets are €8.

We were pleased to host the Intercultural Language Service (ILS) last night in the launch of its latest book of plurilingual poetry, Dubeloving.

Poets from all over the world read from their work. After the readings, the audience enjoyed wine and barmbrack 🍷🍰

The James Joyce Centre will be closed on Thursday, October 23rd due to a private booking. The Introducing Joyce's Dublin walking tour has been cancelled. We will reopen as normal on Friday.

Due to maintenance work, the James Joyce Centre is closed from Wednesday, 15 October to Friday, 17 October. Prebooked admission tickets will be refunded. Our walking tours will continue as scheduled.

We are saddened by the passing of Roland McHugh. Roland was a Joyce scholar of six decades and the author of Annotations to Finnegans Wake.

The Joyce Centre led an immersive week-long literary tour around Dublin for the Graham School University of Chicago in September. The tour swept Dublin, from 'Howth Castle and Environs' in the north to Dalkey in the south and everywhere in between!

We are delighted to accept this beautiful Russian translation of Dubliners as the latest addition to our collection. This rare edition was translated in Moscow in 1937.

You can see this edition as well as other translations of Joyce's work in the Maginni Room.
