I presented the Consequence Check tool to some digital folks in govt this week. It's a methodology for rapidly QAing tech products against their social impacts, not just their tech specification, designed to help surface trade offs www.careful.industries/blog/2025-11... Someone asked a very good Q

@mike I think they’re scared he will leave the sacred premiership and move to Madrid

@mike I think the title has gone, but let’s see after the break, Ali back hopefully and maybe we might see Isak having a crack.

First half in the car, barely heard Salah, Wirtz or effitike’s names in the commentary 🙁

@mike must have been offside about 20 times though since the third goal 🙃

@mike I was listening on the radio whilst driving and Dion Dublin was convinced it should be a goal. I think City deserved to win this, but 1-1 at half time might have triggered a different second half

@helenintgarden.bsky.social oh blimey, there was an article in the tribune about him - it really sets people off in both directions. 🤷‍♂️

@dbcurren.bsky.social oh thanks! Yes, she refused to be edited and the later books do mainly end up being “baggy monsters”.

If you’ve read those two, how about Under The Net or A Fairly Honourable Defeat?

@simon still, it’s your application and you can do what you like https://github.com/simonw/datasette/pull/2500

@dbcurren.bsky.social oh, I can’t see the rest of your thread 🧵- my first novel of hers was Message To The Planet (a tough one!) and I was boggled as to how she could write from the male perspective - I think she does that in five of the novels. Maybe try The Black Prince or The Bell next?

@simon seriously fella? A serious open redirect bug, reported and a PR, which may not be perfect, but raised with a fix & you’ve released new features instead?

This does not give confidence in Datasette which is a shame as it is such a good application!

@mike agreed, feel sorry for the lad 😢
November 1, 2025 at 9:51 PM
@tomstafford to be fair, I thought it was already installed 😆
November 1, 2025 at 9:50 PM
@helenintgarden.bsky.social but would you overtake on there? And during the day, school kids walking home, 20 feels slowed but also safer.

You’re right though, it’s easy to come off the roundabout or through the lights and before you now it, you’re at 30

@helenintgarden.bsky.social what I find remarkable is that now we have 20mph on Psalter Lane, we now have people overtaking drivers who are driving at 20 - incredibly dangerous!
