If these are drug traffickers show the receipts.

Murdering people for "content" and to inure us to the idea of governmental violence is terrifying.

Formula for the end of liberal democracy -

((Malignant autocracy * Grievance Politics)+Crony capitalism)^Spineless Congressional Republicans

It's not looking good.

Scott Bessent denied tariffs are a tax on consumers.

OK - that's a lie. Costs, including tariffs, are inevitably passed on to the consumer.

A retired HR person can understand this. If Scott can't, he has no business in his job.

Once again R's expect the huge tax break for billionaires "jump starts" the economy.

But per Paul Krugman, this zombie idea has devoured Republican brains for years.

Never worked before; won't work now. The "extra $$$" don't create more jobs. Just stock buy backs, new yachts and new houses.

White Afrikaners in, Afghans out.

The next time the U.S. needs support from the local population, the chances of them risking their lives and their families lives to help us is effectively zero.

Sending Steve Witkoff to negotiate with Putin is on par with sending a mediocre T-ball player into the deciding game of the World Series.

He doesn't stand a chance. Putin will negotiate rings around him just because he can.

Why do billionaires need ANOTHER tax cut? Especially one paid for on the backs of the poor and will blow up the deficit?

Republicans aren't even giving the usual BS that tax cuts lead to "unprecedented job growth." It's just "We paid for one and we want it."

Make oligarchs pay their fair share!

Proposals for "increasing the birthrate" are creepy. They're focused on increasing white birthrate since at the same time Head Start is being cut, Medicaid is likely to be cut, and reasonable child care is unaffordable.

Sounds more like Nazi Germany or early USSR.

Shades of the Handmaid's Tale.

JD Vance: end the war in Ukraine on Russia's terms, Ukraine can't join NATO, territory Russia has taken is theirs and all the kidnapped children stay kidnapped.

Imagine the world we'd live in if Hitler could have kept all the land he took and Great Britain was left to fight on it's own.

America has tools for inherent greatness. But we've squandered our opportunities on the altar of proving the other side "wrong"; treating each difference of opinion as a zero sum.

I don't care if it's a Democrat, a Republican or the "Let's Have a Party". I want leaders to lead us to real greatness.

So the tariffs may cause "some" disruption.

Yeeeaahh! Riiight!

Various portions of the Democratic infrastructure are sending me "alarms" about one thing or the other. I click on the link, I'm directed to a contribution site. <sigh>

Enough! If they want my money they can bloody well get off their butts and RESIST!!

Act like a VOCAL OPPOSITION; I'll contribute.

Wajahat Ali on Joy Reid's "Reidout" called it.

No two ways about it, Trump in Putin's bitch.

Listening to Secretary of State Rubio, Senator Graham & National Security Advisor Walz, I conclude that GOP stands for Ghastly Obsequious Poltroons.

The obsequious bootlicking of Trump is a complete sellout of what they "used" to strongly believe.

Things have gotten massively more dangerous.

Let me get this straight - The SecDef and the VP just threw Ukraine under the bus for Putin.

But if our "President" (the orange one) is such a tough negotiator why did he give away his position before starting? 🤔

Trump surrendered Ukraine to Putin.

Trump = surrender monkey.

OK, as a retiree, I need to understand how massive tax breaks for billionaires will improve the lives of us who aren't billionaires.

Positive second and third order effects will also be accepted.

Someone? Anyone?

The Rs get credit for elevating strawman arguments and selling them to the masses as signs of doom.

If you ask what DEI, "Woke" and CRT mean and provide quantifiable examples of the harm they've caused, all you get is "word salad" and "It's bad, it's doing X, Y, or Z damage to society." That's it.

David Corn & Dan Friedman of Mother Jones report that Kash Patel got $25k + an Exec Producer nod on an anti-FBI production made by a pro-Russian firm. Patel offers a blistering attack on the FBI, calling it a “corrupt” enterprise.

And he's nominated to head the FBI? WTHF?!

For all their bleating about how "Christian" they are, people like "Squeaker of the House" Johnson and his ilk are raving hypocrites.

Matthew 7:16 - "By their deeds you will know them."

Bishop Budde, in contrast, embodies what Christ preached and what we should all strive to be, Christian or not.

Trump @ Davos "I'll demand that interest rates drop immediately. And likewise, they should be dropping all over the world. I'm also going to ask Saudi Arabia and OPEC to bring down the cost of oil."

If the world wasn't laughing at us before, how about now?
