Thanks! Great that it worked for you!

We were also concerned by that, so I thought we could use a cleared tissue lens and use Kramers–Kronig clearing to tune n to be just right.

Yeah, that doesn't seem to work... The gel shrinks quite a lot. I have a few more tricks to try before we give up, but you might also want to play with it.

If you want to go further, then @adamkglaser.bsky.social is the person to talk to!

We are excited to share our development of a new 10X lens with NA=0.50 over a 7.2 mm FOV and a 35 mm working distance (water), fully corrected from 400-850 nm. This lens will power our upcoming ExA-SPIM "2" and is available for dissemination - please get in touch if interested!

@miguelcmestre.bsky.social is at the GEF25 with a poster on how we use them if you want a chat. He might also be able to give people a sneak-peek into the high-expansion-factor sectionable gel chemistries he's now working on to increase the effective working distance further still.

We're big fans of the Zeiss 40x/1.0 with 2.5 mm WD (www.micro-shop.zeiss.com/en/us/shop/o...) and the Nikon 60x/1.0 with 2.8 mm WD (www.microscope.healthcare.nikon.com/en_EU/produc...). Both work great on our inverted microscopes when using an FEP coverslip (www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...).
