A 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸 line to be fair. Building a PC is relatively easy, but building a small form factor PC is not for everyone. You can still build a full PC just for your TV, but kinda defeats the purpose.

I sold my consoles last year so I'm not the target, but still intrigued how Steam Machine will be priced

Like you mention, different audiences want different things out of the game (though I think you're overestimating the "just want to play the game" crowd). Narrative structure in games like these are not easy. Although I don't think the dev was successful, they still made an incredible achievement

The problem (for me) isn't how there's more story after credits, I love that. It's that the story being told before credits isn't as substantial, unlike Automata.

Blue Prince's case, honestly I just wanted more narrative road blocks to 46. I got there day 30-ish and kinda wish it was more day 100

That's the point. If there are people who don't care about your story at that point then something is wrong. It's not your job to give them an out; it's your job to make them care.

That said, I don't know anyone who just wanted solely to get to the final room and not want to engage with the story.

This is where your life truly begins.

And as punishment for enjoying it, you will be gifted noisier bones and pains that seemingly just appeared one day.

They're a certain point where we need to add intermissions for bathroom breaks and leg stretching.

Thank goodness the 4-hour Snyder cut wasn't in theaters. So unhealthy. People would have been holding in their pee, not drinking anything for hours before the showing, or at worst pissing themselves.

2/2 Also, speaking as a writer, I think it's kind of lame that there's a story jumping off point at all. I hate being a backseat writer, but if your intent is to unravel this amazing story for your audience then giving players the option to interrupt that early is not amazing.

And while I understand that, I disagree with the initial credits being a good jumping off point. I just think it's unbalanced, mainly because there's so much game/lore after 46 and maybe not enough beforehand depending on how good you are at the game.

My biggest complaint is they rolled credits too early. Credits signal an end and I remember saying "that's it?"

Then playing many days later, I was drip-fed interesting stuff but it felt like I wasn't driving towards a "credits worthy" event.

Great game but structure needed work

Uncomfortable but hopefully things have been at least trending upward for you. I can definitely relate to a rough couple of years but knowing that it won't always be that way has been pulling me through, and I'm sure that's true for you as well.

I've been thinking about it! I'll be honest, it sounds like too much game after seeing @snowbikemike.bsky.social upload literal days of gameplay haha, it might be a game I watch or maybe save for 2026
November 11, 2025 at 10:03 PM
It's on the list! It's also my biggest sin of not finishing the first game

This looks exactly like my kind of shit, thank you for this recc!

There is something really special about an elder Up n' Comer leading a show featuring another Up n' Comer, and Greg proudly beside them.

Hundreds of millions of dollars spent on a flash. Or maybe people are just playing it very quietly, not on my algorithm, etc.

In either event, it's exciting to see more and more indie games not only talked about but continually discussed, sticking in people's minds
