Actor in Apartment 7A, Inside No. 9, Tarot, The First Omen, Lot No. 249, Stopmotion, DASHCAM, Host, Frankenstein's Creature. Much Dickens on stage. Spooky.
Here are the last two portraits taken before Sunday's performances at the Charles Dickens Museum. A few weeks off now, prior to the mania of my 45 Christmas shows. If you missed out this time, panic not: THE SIGNAL-MAN and THE TRIAL FOR MURDER will be back for five airings in December. Link below!

Pre-show pictures from the last four at the Dickens Museum: two on Halloween, two on 1st November. And there are two today - 4pm and 6pm - for which tickets remain plentiful! Link below...

Here's a quick reminder of my Halloween double bill of THE SIGNAL-MAN and THE TRIAL FOR MURDER, which plays at London's Charles Dickens Museum from 31st October to 2nd November! Don't miss out!

Four shows over two nights! That leaves 51 before Christmas. The next six are at London's Charles Dickens Museum for Halloween - this Friday to Sunday - and tickets yet remain: dickensmuseum.com/blogs/all-ev...

Some humbling praise here from horror legend Ramsey Campbell, who caught my double bill of THE SIGNAL-MAN and THE TRIAL FOR MURDER in Manchester! There are still plenty of tickets left for London, 31st October through 2nd November. Hope to see some of you there...?

Show seven was on Saturday, at Manchester's Festival of Fantastic Films. 55 left now, with two tonight in York.
October 27, 2025 at 11:04 AM
That's shows five and six done. Only 56 left!
October 24, 2025 at 1:21 PM
Four shows done. Can't believe we're down to the last 58.
October 22, 2025 at 8:01 AM
Three shows deep. Bring on the next 59!

Despite selling out our entire run in York, London sales for THE SIGNAL-MAN & THE TRIAL FOR MURDER are still a bit slow. We've got six showings between 31st October and 2nd November. A very classic Halloween treat, I'd argue - and in Charles Dickens's (probably definitely haunted) house!

Two shows down; 60 left to go!

Last night was the first of 62 Dickens shows I have in the diary between now and Christmas Eve. Here's the tie-in selfie.

A reminder that tickets are now available for all my Halloween and Christmas shows at London's Dickens Museum! Choose from THE SIGNAL-MAN & THE TRIAL FOR MURDER, THE HAUNTED MAN and the immortal CHRISTMAS CAROL before they sell out: dickensmuseum.com/blogs/all-ev...

I'm shocked and deeply saddened at the sudden loss of @johnjjohnston.bsky.social. He was a gentleman and a scholar, and wildly flamboyant in both guises; infectiously enthusiastic and unfailingly supportive; warm, kind and an awful lot of fun. Raise a glass (or bottle) of rosé to his memory. VALE!

Following last year's sell-out run, I'm reviving my Halloween double bill of THE SIGNAL-MAN and THE TRIAL FOR MURDER. There'll be six showings at Charles Dickens's only surviving London home, from 31st October to 2nd November. And tickets are now on sale: dickensmuseum.com/blogs/all-ev...

With thundering inevitability, I'm covering FRANKENSTEIN (1931) and BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1935) on The Evolution of Horror. There was so much to be said about these, the most classic of all classic horror films, that @mikemuncer.bsky.social had to split the episode into two! Here's part one...

THE FAIRY MOON will have its UK premiere at Leicester Square's @frightfest.bsky.social on 25th August. Expect witchiness!

The artful new horror short THE FAIRY MOON - in which I incarnate some semblance of the Great God Pan - will be getting its world premiere at @fantasiafestival.com this month. More festivals to follow. And more details here: fantasiafestival.com/en/film/the-...

Perusing my first printing of THE SIGNAL-MAN in the Christmas 1866 edition of ALL THE YEAR ROUND. Very useful prep for KILLING DICKENS - in just two weeks! Tickets still available: dickensmuseum.com/blogs/all-ev...

I'm back on the London stage on 13th and 14th June with KILLING DICKENS: a journey through the writer's harrowing last five years to mark the 155th anniversary of his death. Expect a frenzy of letters, Public Readings, EDWIN DROOD and all of THE SIGNAL-MAN. Tickets: dickensmuseum.com/blogs/all-ev...

Very poignant to be catching up with one of David Stuart Davies's Holmes featurettes. We all miss him very much. Lovely to see him in his natural habitat too: the Sherlock Room, in which every shelf creaked with Conan Doyle!

An excellent interview here with Emily Greenwood, director of horror short STOP DEAD (and soon the feature version, THE STILL MAN). Includes this shot of me between takes, shivering beneath my proletarian coat: www.cinema-crazed.com/blog/2025/03...

Schlepping to London for the INSIDE NO. 9 stage show. Hopeful that the influence of the Curse of the Ninth won't prevent them finishing.

Rather than break with tradition, I've decided to get older for my birthday this year. No easy task for someone born in the Victorian age who insists on living in a black-and-white world, but I'm having a jolly good try.
