How exactly is that supposed to work on an algorithmic platform that wants me to pick one lane and never leave it?

And I’m back. Again. Really weird.

So today I’ve had to upload 2 video selfies of me looking silly.

“Slowly move your head left. Now to the right. Now up”

And you do that until you get all green. Then you wait.

Still not sure why Instagram is flagging me. I have 2 pictures and that’s it.

That software was written in Univac Fortran V, later ported to Fortran 77 and C, but it’s still proprietary to Caltech/JPL and hasn’t been released. Even a FOIA request was denied.

So no, the Voyagers don’t run on Fortran in space — but Fortran did help keep them flying from the ground for decades.

Voyager’s onboard software isn’t Fortran at all — it’s written in custom assembly language for the spacecraft’s three computer systems. The Fortran code people talk about actually belongs to the ground systems used here on Earth to plan missions, send commands, and analyse data.

It’s a candle photographed from directly overhead. I had to move far enough away so the flame didn’t damage the lens and then I zoomed in for effect. Post processing into #blackandwhitephotography

For example, I often write emails and product launch sequences. I’ve got a template for that, complete with a reference folder, placeholders, notes in blank docs to jog my memory, and ref links. I just follow the framework and fill in the blanks.

And I love that we can import/export templates 😉
