Peaceful late afternoon in the spring. The grasses are all green now, and that's nice, but I do enjoy how they can also look golden.

Marsh textures.

This particular boardwalk trail isn't so great for birds, so I tend to look downward instead.

Dinner time!

I don't think I'm invited, though.

He's just a little guy

Does anyone know what species this is?

You can't see eagles flying around if you never #GetOutside

Very late to the party, but this is my "strawberry moon" photo from a few weeks ago.
The clouds really helped to give it some character, I think.

If you can enjoy the small things, you'll never run out of subject matter to shoot

Don't mind if I do! Here's a nice snapper from earlier this spring. My offer of friendship was not accepted, but maybe that's for the best since we probably have very different interests.

My favourite mallards are the ones that prefer the seclusion of tiny woodland ponds rather than the open water with other ducks.

Same but different

These pied billed grebes live outside my home and I love their hoots and hollers. These photos aren't from this year. I've only seen their babies in the open like this one season, though they've been here for 7 years.

I was looking through old photo folders for a specific bird shot I've lost track of and found George's kitten photos instead.

So I guess it's #caturday now 🤷🏻‍♂️

Good morning from the marsh!

This frog is delighted to see you, though it's hard to tell. He's an inscrutable fellow.

My first #scapeday post

Just some local scenery earlier this spring featuring a complimentary #bird for those who celebrate.

The first time I've ever seen a bowfin swimming with her swarm of tiny babies.

The raw photos were so flat and dark that I had to take a stylized approach to ressurect them. Never before has the dehaze slider been slammed so hard, lol

I've had a rough year so far, but I'm finally ready to post again!
Here's a carp from earlier this spring.
Tomorrow, I'll post three shots of a bowfin swimming with its swarm of tiny babies.

I don't like posting this kind of thing. But art is supposed to be expressive, and this is all I can express today.

The only thing worse than worrying about the imminent future is knowing for certain that it's the worst case scenario.

When I was four, I set a family precedent for giving pets just-a-bit-old-fashioned names when I named our cat Sheila. She was actually named after a Robert Munsch book character since I had no appreciation of naming conventions at the time.

Sheila lived to to 21, and now I have George, age 4.

I've been trying to do warm winter scenes lately, but I'm not sure about it. Does this look weird to you?
