Really enjoying Landman. Funny, heartfelt, great soundtrack, dynamic.

Just finished watching Wolf Hall. Majestic stuff.

I went back to the start to see how Peter Straughan would define the aura of a man who changed England in his pilot screenplay.

This show, directed by Peter Kosminsky and featuring stellar performances from Claire Foy and Christian Cooke, is excellent.

On Channel 4 on demand now

Wolf Hall is exquisite television. Slow and understated in the best possible way. Mark Rylance puts in an award-worthy performance and Damian Lewis was born to play Henry VIII.

It helps of course when the source material is so good - but what a show.

It's cheery as you might imagine it would be.

‘Why does nobody go to the cinema anymore?’

I just watched Starve Acre. Really nice atmospheric folk horror (if a little generic and lacking in BIG SCARES), anchored by two decent performances from Morfydd Clark and Matt Smith. Nice to see Paddy Maguire making an appearance as well.
