Come for a shot on the miniature train!

I always took her to be a warship, but that's just my impression.

That looks familiar!
September 23, 2025 at 5:56 AM
Indeed. As you said above, that might not be the only thing about to shoot at you!

There's a story in Bill Bellamy's book about his Cromwell withdrawing from a fight with a German 20mm gun. He admits afterwords they should have stayed put and fought back but the shock of suddenly coming under fire got the better of them.

Starfleet could be a bit closer to modern British practice of a ship being 'Fleet Flagship', which is a prestige thing rather then having any operational meaning.

And the octopus story has another irrelevant link to something unrelated in its third paragraph too 😮
August 9, 2025 at 8:52 AM
This fortnight's Private Eye picked up on that too. Cram in the clickbait link regardless of how relevant to the story it is!
August 9, 2025 at 8:48 AM
This story is dated yesterday, but it happened in September 2023? And I'm sure I've seen it before. Is the Mirror republishing old stories?

I would make that reducing the risk.

I remember an MP on Any Questions back in 2011 saying British forces Libya were 'completely safe', meanwhile C-130s supporting special forces were coming back with bullet holes.

That Galor is having a really bad day!

It will get better no doubt, but until these tools have have some way of checking for accuracy anything they produce won't stand up to inspection, and I suspect getting to that stage will be the difficult part.

That looks dreadful! Wobbly lines, melting bollard, overhead lines over the platform...

LHX-Attach Helicopter on the Mega Drive allowed one controller to be the pilot and the other the gunner. The problem (at least in my experience) was that everyone wanted to be the pilot.
January 3, 2025 at 10:34 AM
That is a good point, but I fear you may be giving them to much credit.
January 1, 2025 at 6:27 PM
Agreed!
January 1, 2025 at 12:23 PM
What does 'close the game at any moment' mean? Do they realise it's not a video game?
January 1, 2025 at 11:26 AM
I've still got the Sim City 2000 manual for the drawings and poems at the end. I think I even bought a couple of the books from the bibliography.

I think it's from 'The Battle', about half way through season 1.

If I remember what I read in one of the behind the scenes books, the Stargazer was originally intended to be a Constitution class (reusing the Enterprise-A model), but instead a new ship was designed quite late in production of the episode.
