Reading Jane Austen’s “Persuasion” and cracking myself up. Anne is staying behind to care for a friend and will take a mattress on the floor. But how did one procure a mattress in the 1800’s. There were no mattress stores, right? Was there a mattress person? Did you send a telegram? 🤔🧐🤣
