Excited to share that the second paper of my PhD is out in @currentbiology.bsky.social 🍈🦜🍒🐒🍊🐿️

We show that the functional diversity of seed-dispersal interactions in tropical forests takes circa 20 years to recover after deforestation.

Delayed recovery of seed-dispersal interactions after deforestation
Landim et al. show that seed-dispersal interactions require about two decades to functionally recover in tropical forests in Ecuador, but the recovery time of seed-dispersal functions is delayed in pa...

Back home after a wonderful week! Learning so much about metabarcoding 🧬thanks to the workshop organized by @nclneg.bsky.social, followed by inspiring plenaries, talks & posters! Loved catching up with 🫶🏼friends & meeting new generation of net ecologists. Already looking forward to the next one in 🇧🇷!

Here’s sneak peak of our latest expedition to Cabo de Hornos. The biodiveristy, incredible, and crossing Beagle channel while being so close to Antartic was truly an experience. Now, still some days left to work in Navarino! 🪲🌱🐛🪰🕷️🌿🐧 @annatraveset.bsky.social

Seed dispersers help plants tracking climate change on mountains!

Animals are dispersing plant species to higher elevations... but over half of the plants arriving at higher elevations were exotic. 🦎🐦💩🌿

Climb forest, climb: diverse disperser communities are key to assist plants tracking climate change on altitudinal gradients
Climate change is forcing species to shift their distribution ranges. Animal seed dispersers might be particularly important in assisting plants tracking suitable climates to higher elevations. Howe.....
