Well where did 1960s Germans get all that food from? Apparently these splendid newfangled "supermarkets", open at night and reachable by car

Well, I just started a position at Aachen technical university. I'm at the chair of applied ethics and at a big consortium on the development and implementation of neuronal computation.
Also our stairwells are pretty

You can also have stew with Kraut. Please admire the only documented use of a glass pot ever! (I guess it is fun to see, but would be terrible to use)

Before I forget, my being sent a stack of these reminded me, my book now also exists as a slender somewhat affordable paperback.

While your sauerkraut matures, you pickle your roast. But in nothing so vulgar as a tupperware because it's the 60s, so you have a clay pot for roast-pickling. Please submerge the meat if you try this at home.

Now from the median to the rock bottom: Pineapple was the newfangled fruit of the 60s. How would a German enjoy this delicacy?

I've come across a trove of Dutch food photography – also known as a cookbook. And it's great! It's a book from the 60s about German cuisine. It is very 60s, shockingly authentic, but also quite alien. This Rollbraten on a silver platter with steamed veggies about represents the median picture.
