It doesn’t make much sense in AUM since it already has this function built in. End of info-dump.

Theres also a collection of midi apps/filters (AUv3s) called Midi tools by Victor Porof. Theres a key-zone filter in that package. You can use multiple instances of it (one per channel) and set up key-ranges. This way you could use it in any DAW or AUv3 host to make your own splits too.

ButterSynth has an interesting split where it lets the user set up key rangers for its different osc’s. Tera Pro is classical multitibral annyoincan set up a split with two different patches. Theres more but I can’t remember.

But here’s where I’m lacking in knowledge as I don’t work with keyboard splits anymore. So Im not really familiar what options one would have inside other DAWs. 😅

Apps are getting heavier and need more processing power. So you’re limited in AUM because it doesn’t support multi-core processing. You have to build your projects accordingly. So today I’d almost want to recommend going with a Multi-core processing DAW. More power for building crazy patches …

I actually don’t work like that anymore. It’s been a while but yeah in the past I used MidiFlow. Later I just moved on to AUM and I set up splits inside the channel settings by using the same midi channel and just limiting key ranges for each channel. I used to recommend doing that too. However …
