Who said they were?? In real terms he could have fetch 80-100M for the club, which benefits them and, drum roll, the fans. It wouldn’t have hurt anybody to do that, but he chose to leave for nothing. I have no skin in this game but that would royally piss me off

He’s won the premier league and the champions league with his boyhood club, what more is there to possibly do? I get wanting to go a new challenge but to go out on a fee is almost like a kick in the sack to the fans imo

I’m not a Liverpool fan but he could have at the very least not walked out for free. His skillset at the peak of his physical limits would be a tidy sum for Liverpool to reinvest into the club, a nice thank you and good bye to the fans but this options is the worse of both worlds.
