I think you're overlooking the "right now" part of that statement. If he's willing to accept not starting for the next 2 years, there's no telling what his role will be once the Big 3's contracts are up. Turner also said "that doesn't mean that it can't work, or it's not OK for the time being."

As a native of the DC area, I feel sorry for them having to work outside dressed like that. It says it got up to 80 today, which is actually not bad for DC in August but still not vest over long sleeved shirt and long pants stuffed into boots weather.
