Between 2021/22 and 2022/23, there was a real terms decrease in the total government investment in general practice.

This is time there has been a real terms decrease since 2012/13.

While the number of full time equivalent, fully qualified, permanent GPs is now increasing after a period of decline, there remains fewer GPs serving the most deprived areas

For the first time, the percentage of GPs in salaried roles is now greater than the percentage of partners (by headcount, not including locums)

October 2024 now holds the record for the highest monthly number of general practice appointments delivered at 39.5 million.

This beats previous record holder October 2023 by over 4 million. Some of this is down to better data capture but definitely not all - activity is high.
