When you discover cake scraps (this happens when you level the dome off a cake) in the freezer, your family gets a vanilla cake and berry trifle for dessert. A rare thing happed today and all my sons are off the same day so today is our Thanksgiving dinner!!!

Birthday cake for my niece who is turning 30. I tried a new icing. It’s a hybrid white chocolate ganache/buttercream. Goes on really silky smooth then firms up nicely in the fridge. #birthdaycakes

I don’t do a lot of weddings anymore but a friend of my niece’s was in a panic. I’m thrilled that without even seeing it, I matched the cake to the bride’s grandparent’s cake topper perfectly. I’m really happy with how it all turned out. #weddingbakers
