Unseen DCOM 54. A high school student discovers a love for DJ-ing. This movie could have been very predictable, but it subverts almost every typical predictable DCOM trope and has an overall very fun cast of characters. Surprising and genuinely sweet.

Unseen DCOM 53. It’s Freaky Friday but with a boy and girl. It sounds predictable, but it actually has some surprising depth to it, dealing with toxic friendships and the grief a child can face from deceased parents and absent walk-out parents.

Fun new battle style. A very lively overworld despite what some might say. Fantastic new Mega Evolutions. Phenomenal human characters. A surprisingly fun story. Once again, the experimental Legends games prove to be some of Pokémon’s best.

Unseen DCOM 50. A DCOM about 9/11. I’m not even joking it’s about kids on a navy tiger cruise but then 9/11 happens and we focus on everyone’s reactions. The characters were surprisingly good but the overall plot was just fine. Somehow Bill Pullman was in it

Unseen DCOM 49. A popular girl and film student team up to help each other find success through a documentary on the popular girl. The characters were very unlikable and the editing felt incredibly sloppy even for DCOM standards. Blech.

Unseen DCOM 48. A biographical tale about the origins of motor drag racers legends, the Enders sisters. The most interesting thing in this is that the younger sister on the right is played by a young Brie Larson. Otherwise, just fine I guess.

Unseen DCOM 47. A star baseball teen discovers a love of cooking and must balance his desire for both. It’s about what you can predict, though the misogyny trying to be addressed wasn’t handled very well.

My partner’s a big Baldur’s Gate fan so we played through his one together. A spinoff that’s a top-down action RPG ala Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Fun gameplay overall but its age is showing, especially with ridiculous difficulty spikes.

Unseen DCOM 46. A spoiled elite snowboarder must regain her title and confidence by being trained by a former boarder who lost his love for it after an injury. At best nothing horrible, at worst nothing memorable. I’ve seen these plot beats too often now.

Unseen DCOM 45. A girl discovers her parents hunt monsters and must step up when the worst of the worst escape to wreak havoc. Felt like a mix of Ghostbusters and Hocus Pocus. Some interesting ideas in this one in terms of how monsters and fears are related.

Unseen DCOM 44. A sequel to the remake where the mummy comes back with his mummy girlfriend and must be protected from an evil mummy. Overall just bad at almost everything. Very little charm at all. It had a gay wedding though so points for that? I guess?

Unseen DCOM 43. Based on a book series, typical “school for individuals with magic powers” trope but this time focusing on the ones who can’t use their powers “right” in an unsubtle metaphor for modern academia’s handling of gifted vs struggling kids.

Unseen DCOM 42. A pop star and a girl who can’t stand his fame find an unlikely romance. The biggest issue was that it felt like a rough draft; some more content would make it work well, but overall felt half baked at best.

Unseen DCOM 41. So like this kid trying to get a scholarship accidentally kidnaps his principal’s problematic dog and then things just happen a lot. It’s almost so bad it’s good because of some absurdities, but it still fumbled most of the time.

Unseen DCOM 40. A girl must uncover the mysterious connection between the students at her new school and the characters from King Arthur. A fun idea that has some interesting concepts but never took them far enough to be something super remarkable.

Unseen DCOM 39. To go to a boarding school for ice skating, a teen must also become part of its hockey team. This one was another fun surprise with a lot of comedy and heart. Felt like a Disney channel equivalent to Barbie or Legally Blonde.

Despite the price and a number of strange design choices, the overall gameplay, track design, music, and visuals are some of the series’ strongest. I really hope this one gets longevity with gradual updates over time to really refine its strengths.

Unseen DCOM 37. So Disney channel remade their very first DCOM, but in the manner of most live action Disney remakes, this one misses the mark. It adds too many unnecessary additional sub plots and is just overall far less funny than the original.

Unseen DCOM 36. During Hanukkah, a struggling basketball team from a Jewish school find hope in a struggling professional basketball player as their new coach. Not much to say, it’s fairly boring from start to end beyond some symbolism. 🤷♂️
