and by "super easy" i mean it's four lines and you bring your own input. it'll work on plain HTML or with any javascript framework. web components rock.

it's the claim i'm making re: your post at the top of the thread — specifically, that there is *not* a winning coalition for destroying the united states government. if you want to argue otherwise, you need to show your work! the burden of proof is on you here

if you are saying that the lack of support won't necessarily act as a check on his power, agreed, but i don't think anyone is arguing that; what's being disputed is the idea that even a narrow trump majority reflects any sort of broad support for his agenda

cataclysmic in terms of impact, sure, but you can't start from trump's victory and work backwards to figure out the opinions of the body politic. people love to retrofit narratives but the most probable explanation is simply that trump has name recognition and is prodigally skilled at winning votes.

for example
not at all a mystery how someone who does not pay close attention to politics could read coverage like this and then be surprised to see the national guard deployed in cities and ICE thugs abducting their friends and neighbors!

for example
the point is that the immediate evaporation of support for trump is a strong indicator that his voters are not in fact getting what they thought they were voting for

how do you square that with the fact that once people saw what trump *actually* did with his power, they overwhelmingly supported democrats in virtually every election the first chance they got?
