Nowadays, with Spotify's algorithm, I will listen to recommended songs, sometimes without even meaning to do so, via autoplay, and find it provides me new songs I love. It's a frictionless and convenient process, but I do miss some of the joy of exploration from the "old fashioned way." (3/3)

I wouldn't like all the music, but part of the fun was the experience of listening to music and building a personal sense of taste and appreciation, and the thrill that came with listening to those first couple tracks of a new album and getting the feeling that it would be a new favorite. (2/3)

This was something I thought about too. I've lately been thinking about how information siloing leads to less responsive problem-solving in our society. If people aren't able to access objective information sources, the feedback loop between a problems being identified and solved is broken.

This is such an important point, and I often wonder how libraries can help to provide a more neutral ground for people to explore information, while competing with the addictive/easily usable aspects of social media (a la "hacking" video and reading).
