Individualism—especially the desperate, toxic individualism of American culture—is isolation and struggle. It is poverty and vast wealth inequality. It is a life siloed and scraping. A lonely death.

As the systems fail us one by one, collectivism is our only hope for survival.

Palestinians in Gaza are facing severe thirst, disease, and starvation after the Israeli government abruptly cut off all electricity to Gaza two days ago. The Israeli military has not allowed any humanitarian aid into Gaza for 9 days.

And people like to pretend that we can create systemic change without directly disrupting current systems, but we absolutely cannot. These systems have to be torn down, and how we care for each other will show what we can build in their place.
