Hey thanks for answering so many of my questions. Didn't think that so many would get answered.

I hope you and Jim enjoy the holidays.

Loved the ep. Without spoiling anything, ill just say that the deeper you get in the Mignolaverse, the more you realize that most things are important. Even the stuff that isnt crucial for understanding the story has an impact, or at the very least adds context. Even (especially?) the one shots.

Imagine how it must have been for freed slaves who risked their lives going to the voting box just to vote for Fascist Bigot #1 or Fascist Bigot #2.

The "no choice at all" stance only comes into play if you think the differences between candidates are only philosophical. Then yeah, sit it out.

It seems like fate called you into action, Justin. This can not stand.

Jim never saw Dick Tracy? I would have bet my house that he had.

Absolute stunner.

Its precisely because they're 35 that they're all on bikes. The meals start to stick at 35.

Well, it's because you distrust authority by default. All that's left are the crazy theories. Like, does the notion that the CIA facilitated drug distribution shock you? Is it a conspiracy theory to say that the war on drugs was mostly about criminalizing blacks? Or is it like saying water is wet?

If it makes you feel any better, I have no clue what the recent discussions have been about, so the reach of this controversy hasn't hit us "olds" yet.

Nobody's perfect, BUT he had a unique life and a profound effect on American culture. I think we can cut the Jim Shooters of the world some slack. He loved comics, and he had strong opinions about how they needed to be done. If that's the worst thing people can say about you, you did alright.

But that dress....yikes. Also, she's wearing mismatched shoes! Tore up from the floor up.

I just spoke to Hank Hill and he is pissed.

There are specific parts where I felt that the stain of linking these two stories really showed, but it's not that serious.

I can see why you liked the show. It does have some clear strengths.

...baggage of Watchmen. And because they tried to squish one story into another you ended up compromising both. The plot contorts the original narrative to make it something different than intended, and the original story traps this story in the cage of Watchmen lore. It just sort of bummed me out.
February 23, 2025 at 11:16 PM
Actually. That's the crux of my "beef." It's not about the integrity of Watchmen (not entirely) it's about the fact that they had actually created a good separate story and smashed it into an existing IP. I felt like the story they gave us deserved to be told on its own, and not trapped in the...

I have serious issues with the show both conceptually and narratively. I think it did a disservice to the original work, it's creators, the talent involved in the sequel and the audience. I ended up feeling like everyone deserved better. It was like a perfect synergy of corporate exploitation.

I talked to Ollie Queen and he is pissed off.

One day in the 1980s it was parked across the street from my home for like 8 hours. It was a wild day for all of us kids in the neighborhood.

I saw B&R in the theaters when it came out, I remember a father carting his child out the theater about half way through saying "I can't watch any more of this s#$t."

It's the only film I've seen that people booed at the end. I thought that only happened on tv.

You're not the only one. During covid, there was a raid on penne for awhile in my neighborhood. Angel hair, linguine, farfalle, no problem at all. But penne, you had to scoop up when you saw it.

3. Great work. You guys are the best there are at what you do, and what you do....is pretty damned nice.

2. Funny that you thought Hot Fuzz with the horse scene. When I first read the scene in DKR I thought of the scene where indiana jones jumped on a horse (spurring similar boyhood excitement from me) to chase down the trucks transporting the ark, and now that then-topical reference is dated lol.
