The issue is that facial recognition and zoning are so spotty. It does not properly recognize faces and constantly mixed up family and friends. And it constantly notify events outside zones I set up.

The subscription gives you mainly 3 features - (1) longer retention of recordings, (2) facial recognition, and (3) setting zones for you to customize events (ie. animal, motion, vehicle, person, alarm, etc.) and action (record, send notification, do nothing, etc.) for each event type.

Note that after the firmware update, it supports only stereo audio output. I ended up not using it at home for the lack of support of surround sound. IMO it is only good for travel, or if you don’t have a home theater system.

WTH did Sony let BluePoint, which specializes in excellent remakes, to work on a GaaS? This cannot be the reason why Sony paid to acquire this talent!

IMO Sony execs got bullish after the PS2-era success. Then PS3 stumbled albeit catching up later on. Now after PS4 & PS5 success, they seemingly got bullish again + started these train-wreck bad decisions over past few years. Thx to Concord for all recent reshuffle & direction changes!!!

IMO the fact that 4K UHDs costs are so much higher now (used to low- to mid-$20s) is the result of BB and Target's exit. Amazon is running a monopoly now.
