Ongoing kitty saga, it was a good vet visit today, quick in and out. Her weight has stabilized (yay eating again!), so she got the 4 week steroid shot instead of the 48 hour one. With any luck this will give her a good quality of life again. Kind of stressful but we are happy she’s feeling better.

Ongoing kitty saga, it was a good vet visit today, quick in and out. Her weight has stabilized (yay eating again!), so she got the 4 week steroid shot instead of the 48 hour one. With any luck this will give her a good quality of life again. Kind of stressful but we are happy she’s feeling better.
This is a tough one, we got her as a kitten thirteen years ago, and of all the pets she is the one that is my husband’s shadow. She tolerates me, especially if I’ve got food, but he is her person.

Good news bad news.
Good news, we are finally home, and the medicine the vet gave her brought back her appetite enough for her to eat for the first time in days.
Bad news (trigger warning), the ultrasound specialist found lymphoma that’s metastasized, so we don’t have a lot longer with her.

At the vet this morning for kitty whose appetite has been suffering and then over the weekend just decided to stop eating altogether. She’s still drinking, but won’t eat. Vet says bloodwork and pee and X-ray look great, but she’s lost weight (~2lbs) and we are concerned.

Went to my local library branch today to get a library card since even though I’ve lived here a couple of years, I haven’t actually been inside to check it out. Was greeted by this sticker on a light pole in the parking lot… librarians were lovely and masked, apparently we border a super red area.

Took a mental health walk with my chihuahua in the park. Taking advantage of the warm weather while it’s still here. Kai had a blast!

Updated intro post: I tend to lurk but I doomscroll a lot. I’m in RVA. Fibromyalgia sucks, but my side gigs are graphic design, pyrography, and photography. 2 dogs, 2 cats, 1 husband. Love to read, mostly mm romance. Would love more friends, it’s hard to find community at 48.

Did the thing today. Was a longer drive than if I voted on Election Day, but there wasn’t a line, and so now I don’t have to worry about it anymore. The only boosters out front (beyond the perimeter) were from Harris campaign, so I’m probably in a bluer area than I realized.

Got a new foam car seat so the chihuahua will be more comfortable when I take him on long car rides. It’s in the living room waiting to get installed in the car. The cardboard box is also in the living room waiting to get broken down for recycling. Guess which one the cat chooses to hang out in 😂

Had to spot clean the chi because he somehow rolled in something and it borked his fur - so now he’s recovering from being cold by chilling on a heating pad (lowest setting!) under a blanket, living his best life 🧖♀️

After a tough vet visit yesterday (he’s fine, just didn’t react well to one of the vaccines), just spent today relaxing - most of the evening Kai has been curled up on my lap getting ALL the cuddles.
