I believe we can create a future where humans live in harmony with nature & each other.

I refuse to comply with age verification so don't message me, I can't read the chat screen.
#AmReading Mercy, the first book from the series Dept Q TV shows are based on. Haven't seen the TV show, this is a Bookclub read.

Has anyone seen the show?

Can't say I am loving the book. Pretty formulaic, a bit racist & this audio version has awful narration. English voice acting of Danish.

Oh, Jennifer. Why on earth would we want to be Wham-free?

Little Birdie Bookshop in Paddington. Owned by a Zionist who accuses anyone who is anti-genocide of hating Jews.

100%. This grotesque spectacle is burned on my brain now, it's Albanese showing his true colours, sucking up to a mad, fascist wannabe dictator

Can any reader-types tell me why publishers sometimes do this, "disguise" proper nouns by removing letters??

#amreading a gift from a dear friend Half the Human Race, by Anthony Quinn

Documenting for posterity: throwing out my notes & manuscripts for old book and film projects that I've grown beyond.

It's kind of fun to remember the time I spent researching, the work I put in. But there's no need to hang onto it anymore.

#AmReading an advance copy of a new book about mental illness, by Robyn Semple. It's intended to help people suffering from anxiety, depression or PTSD to understand the physiological causes behind their illness, to reduce shame & enable healing.

It is really soothing & reassuring to read!

#AmReading The Book of Hope, essentially an interview with Jane Goodall.

Re-read in honour of her life.

If you need some light in these dark times, this will help ❤️

Albanese is to Trump as Chamberlain was to Hitler

When you voted for Labor, did you expect to get Trump?

#AmReading Parable of the Talents by Octavia E. Butler. A library selection. Most of the action is set in 2032-33 but viewed from some point in the future. The USA has collapsed after something called the Pox & Christian Extremists are burning & enslaving people.

Kathryn Campbell should be in jail, and she would be if Labor hadn't set up NACC to cover up crimes instead of hold people to account.

Albo taking selfies with Trump = Chamberlain smiling at Hitler

I can't express my rage at Albanese nearly as well as Dave Milner does it in The Shot

#AmReading Lyrebird by Jane Caro.

My first crime novel in several years! I love that it is vividly contemporary Australia & that awareness of climate change & the impact on the environment is woven through the storytelling.

I loved Miss Benson's Beetle so much, now I #AmReading The Music Shop, which happened to be at the free book exchange at my doctor's clinic.

Anyone who loves records will love this. Reminds me of High Fidelity by Nick Hornby.

#AmReading this month's bookclub assignment, Miss Benson's Beetle by Rachel Joyce, & bloody loving it. The audio is read beautifully by Juliet Stevenson.

Themes of trauma, loss, interbeing & connection all wrapped up in a cosy package. 1950 Brisbane makes a brief appearance.

A selection of anti-Nazi posters that have appeared in my suburb overnight

Have not seen anything about the Nazi march planned for the end of the month around these streets. Makes me feel good to know this is an anti-fascist neighbourhood

I finished Mallacoota Time: Lost Summer 2020 so now #amreading Reflections on Healing, a small but beautiful book about Milena Cifali's recovery from a freak accident that happened just as she sought closure from the bushfires.

If you're healing from something, read these books ❤️

#AmReading Mallacoota Time by Milena Cifali, who lost her home in the New Year's Eve bushfires in 2019. It's incredible how COVID etc erased that from my memory.

I've got the audiobook which is definitely the best way to experience this work, which features Milena's poetry and songs.

Maybe I find this funny because I had a beer and a red wine after no alcohol for 6 weeks but here's a sliding door moment where Albo is an actor in Italy not a venal fool selling out his country. A world apart indeed.
