I told you so but you just told me to calm down and not over react. Now we have a destructive secret police force with no accountability what could go wrong

I don’t feel bad anymore that I didn’t order a framework when I needed a laptop and chose one that I could actually get at the time.

We’re trying to get rid of stand alone Emergency Departments where I’m at because they offer glorified urgent care service at emergency department prices. Why would you want the only healthcare in hours of drive time to be emergency only?

I recovered my account earlier this year and remembered the gender change witch.

Looks cool. I have to play with it when I get some free time.

It looks like they are going to be offering a single board computer in the near future but again we have a ton of options for single board computers but the only one that is highly popular is because it supports its product line much better and offers a ton of literature and education

I don’t love it but from a hardware side I tend to use other microprocessors (pico, esp) and the software side will be really easy to fork and likely has a big enough community to get regular work. It just sucks that something else open source is going to a corporate overload.

When they said they want to make a better social media they don’t mean safer. They literally want a platform where nazi shit can exist and the response to safety is you don’t like it here’s our GitHub make something you like regardless of barriers and knowledge to the person asking for better

6. Other than waiting for projects like that to mature (and supporting them financially if you can) in not sure that there’s really anything that can be done unless your in a position to learn how to build what you want and build it.

End of thread that will likely not be seen at all.

5. Check out Northsky, its goal is a safer space for LGBTQ+ people. It currently is being developed and isn’t something that’s up and running yet however it might be a good option down the road, but it remains to be seen how it will work in practice. And if the community idea will be sustainable

4. So what can non or less technical users do when you want safety? Unfortunately options are limited and not much help is likely to come from official Bluesky. The way it’s built and being developed allows alternatives and the best we can do right now is wait and see.
October 2, 2025 at 4:02 PM
3. Bluesky has largely failed in explaining its objectives and function to general social media users and has made it such that it’s almost like two different conversations are happening because technical and general user expect two different things.

2. Creating a safe social media was never the goal. The reason it was safer than the alternatives was due to who was or was not using it. As more people use the platform (particularly problematic people) safety will decrease.

“We’re trying to build a better social media”. Also I’m going to act like the asshole ceos of the platforms I’m trying to be better than and make fun of users pointing out legitimate concerns.

I’ve been watching this for a while on the stl sites and while you can obviously choose to filter or ignore it makes finding cool good files harder

It also points out the subset of people in 3d printing that open source and sharing culture was more about “free stuff” than freedom.
