I think they swung too far and have now devalued wins. If the point of the standings is to rank the best seasons, ask Kyle Busch fans which RCR car’s seasons they’d have rather had in 2024-25. It should’ve been top 10 in points & the 6 with the most wins outside the top 10.

My gut reaction when I first heard it wasn’t the Leo Sayer version of that song, but the version of it he did with The Wiggles in the 2000’s, but admittedly that could be from having a sister who played the DVD my family had of The Wiggles endlessly and it being the first song. youtu.be/-1UC-K1eOC8

I honestly don’t get the appeal, it feels like overtrodden ground at this point for internet music reviewers. It’s like doing a The Room episode if you’re a movie analysis channel, unless you have a very specific angle you’re taking it’s likely just rehashing what others have already said.

I think the finale straddled the line of being good enough to not Game of Thrones the whole series in retrospect but not so good that it prevents negativity from being the default response from fans. Also it helps they picked the best Prince slow song in When Doves Cry as well as Heroes & Landslide

I think his case is best made if you just go race by race and think of who had the speed to actually contend for the win. He’s got to be up there for sure as off the top of my head from ones he didn’t win: Atlanta 1, COTA, both Vegas’s, Homestead, Darlington 1, Charlotte, Michigan & Indianapolis

But I also think that definition opens up Pandora’s Box as it means more and more artists become one hit wonders as time progresses, that would turn an artist like Brenda Lee (and eventually Mariah Carey) into one hit wonders because their Christmas songs erased everything else from genpop’s memory

It depends on if you consider one hit wonder to mean they only have one song that’s still in the collective public consciousness. If that’s the definition then I’d say at this point they are.

The whiplash I got listening to this episode when the Mike Scott Hive was referenced would’ve killed a crash test dummy. Also I fully intend to listen to both band’s discographies as a result of this episode.
