But isn't "I want never to see you again" even better, grammatically, since the object is "never want to see you again"? And, hey! it doesn't split the infinitive!
But, actually, I think putting "never" after "I" serves to emphasize it and makes a stronger point, especially when spoken emphatically.

I'm down here in Phoenix, so (a) I first read those temperatures in Fahrenheit and I'm thinking why would you go someplace 20 degrees COLDER than that??? (b) tomorrow it's going to be 46 C here.
