This seemed like a particularly sneaky compromise too. You've really got no hope of being immune to this sort of thing if you accept you aren't going to be writing everything from scratch.

A good friend of mine argued that sortition would address many of the problems we see with modern democracy. Random selection by lot for a fixed tenure, it works for juries, could it work more generally?

I feel your pain, I finally got this one today, after many, many failed ideas and bugs, the last of which only manifested in the actual input, not the examples, much to my dismay.
