Scum, I’m told. Poet, Disgusted, Angry, Pessimistic, Glad to be Aging Out, Loaded with Regret, Overwhelmed by Idiocy, deep long blue. Not looking for a date. Not buying anything. Here to help, support, and vent my spleen, rage, and despair.
💙
Finished ridding the back deck of fallen big leaf maple leaves, fell into a chair just as a visitor flew in.

A little early for Caturday but tonight’s pose, white cats roasting by a sealed gas fireplace, seemed so Nat King Cold…

Tonight, looking again at Mamdani campaign footage, all that positive reaching back and forth…I think the last time I remember it candidate sparking that much energy was RFK 68

Stand-off at the back gate on a cloudy afternoon.
It was the largest mouse he’d ever seen.
Bravely stood guard.

Cool! I found mr. Potato head…

I’m going to post these as I see them…I want to fill my feed with pictures of hope and unity, and rage against the dying of the American light.

Way to go Salem! Proud as hell… Salem showed up, by the thousands. A raucous, peaceful, empassioned protest! All ages, all walks of life, raising their voices to end the madness.
Thank you Salem!

It used to be my chair.
I’ve been replaced.

This from a message sent by Oregon governor Tina Kotek, standing firm against the unconstitutional deployment of troops in Portland.
Thank you Governor.

My side of the bed this morning. Happy Caturday Bluesky! Another fine day to resist, or, Y’know, sleep all day.

Good morning Bluesky!
We're cracking the bubbly because today I was allowed to reopen my account!
It's been about 10 days. Apparently some "suspicious behavior" occurred, maybe a hacker. Can't imagine anyone bothering with an old fart's social media site. But there you go.
It's great to be back.

Sunset tonight after a long day. Dragons and beasts drifted across the western sky. Almost peaceful.
Good night, friends.
Perhaps the files fall tomorrow, and perhaps this will all go away.
Or perhaps tomorrow is just another day to get stronger, to resist.

Sunset, the Pacific Northwest edge of North America, end of July, 2025.
There was a demonstration at the capitol today.
But the crowd of rabblet rousers sparse, the excitement and passion lagged, and support from passing traffic nil.
Like we’ve given up. Status quo.
Sunuvabitch.

At the capitol.
Diminished crowd. There’s an inherent sadness in it. It reminds me of the end of the movie “On the Beach”… the ever shrinking crowd bravely holding up the sign” there is still time brother”, the barroom caterwauling of waltzing Matilda as time runs out.
Where’s the resistance?

Happy Caturday, Bluesky.
They’re plotting an escape, I think.
Perhaps they want to go to the capitol today. They hate maga.
Good, sensible cats.

Good morning from Willamette Valley.
A perfect day for peaceful protest.
A perfect day to fight for the democracy.
A perfect day to reclaim some joy, to do the right thing.
A perfect day to stop the idiocy, the fascists, this twisted, perverted illusion of America.
August 2, 2025 at 3:49 PM
Sitting out at sunset, cool coast wind blows across the valley.
Considering life's fragility from this new vantage of age,
A much longer path behind me than ahead.

I wonder at those who relish doing harm,
Murderous wars, fascistic urge for power, infinite greed,
Life doesn't have to be this way.

Noir caturday. Be careful out there.
July 26, 2025 at 3:09 PM
A small crowd of demonstrators gathered near the state capitol today, though I arrived late.
It seemed subdued, without throngs of traffic supporting the protesters, without the big numbers.
The passion is there. Just need a lot more engagement.
I hope exhaustion hasn’t set in.
Or futility.

Found lounging in the shade.
Company this evening!
Almonds for dinner tonight.

Good morning Bluesky from the Willamette Valley. Jays harvesting in the hazelnut bush, bees on the lace cap. Headed towards 90.
Looks like the same country I’ve always loved, but I know it’s not.
What a crying shame- seems like the joy, the pride has been taken away.
The joy.

Early one Caturday morning, while Kimchi peacefully slept in my chair…
July 12, 2025 at 7:07 AM
Sunset dinner of grilled chicken, roasted corn, and stir fried chard.
Enhanced by a glass of red and this.
