A grim milestone has been passed. The @UN has confirmed that 2024 has become the worst year ever for humanitarian workers killed worldwide. So far, 281 have died, 95% of them are local and 30 of them from IFRC network.

This is unacceptable. Governments must protect all humanitarian workers.

After 2 weeks, #COP29 has finished with a deal. It's far from perfect, but it's something. Effective implementation at the community level is crucial - delivery on what's been promised. The agreement in Baku creates a pathway, but trust and action go hand in hand.
