Painting with color in Vacant Shadow technique.

One of my teapots, It is all white, so I thought it would be easy to do in Vacant Shadows. Nope!!! This ends the "White" only paintings in this block. Tomorrow (or whenever the critique comes back) I will start with color painting in Vacant Shadows. I loved the white only ones. Nervous about color.

This is my fourth (4) painting in Vacant Shadows. It is a Still Life that I had to create, and I did so with my Pfaltzgraff dishes (Tea Rose) - the individual tea pot and cup. I like how these paintings work up. They require more thought.

05-02 ~ We will graduate to using color to do paintings after several are worked in the white paint. These studies require more thought and less painting.

Block05 is all about Vacant Shadow paintings where we do not paint any of the shadows of a setting but only the light areas. As the other blocks, we start with gray scale ( in this case using only white paint) to paint our light areas.

2025 Jan 23 Beginning painting with color.
This painting looks 2 dimensional because there are no gradients nor highlights. It is just to help us learn how to mix colors and paint with them.
