Parks are capable of closing. FS lands including wilderness will be lawless wastelands full of garbage and human poop without the batch of new probie workers. We lost our temps, and federal funding usually supports non-profits and interns. We are facing a summer of zero rec employees on my district…

You have no idea the implications firing all the probationary employees. It’s a fight that MUST be picked. My agency lost their temps this year, and most of the folks leftover were hired in a giant hiring event last summer. We will lose all of our on the ground staff. We’re fucked if this happens.
