Pragmatic progressive non-compounding Jacobite. Historian of later early modernity. INTJ since 1976. Increasingly dogmatic and prescriptive opinions on increasingly trivial matters.
I am not seeing where the V&A site asserts that the series or any of the images in it was "commissioned" by Parliament. The fine print at booth right on the engravings states that they were published in accordance with an Act of Parliament, which probably means the Licensing Act, revived in 1737.

It was a little more complicated than that. D'Eon doesn't map very well onto 21st century categories. Non-binary, perhaps, but only if you squint. Gary Kates's biography is dated, but AFAIK is still the best on the subject.

Wolf Hall, novel and series, paint a very different picture of More, an interesting counterpoint to Paul Scofield's performance in A Man for All Seasons. My students read the hagiography attributed to More's son-in-law (the basis for Robert Bolt's screenplay) against John Foxe's accounts of More.

It's worth noting that in the 2024 presidential election, DJT carried Ravalli County (of which Hamilton is the seat) by 41 points.
