You can dislike what Charlie did this season, I did too, but suddenly hating the character because of what is clearly a transitional period/low point is frustrating.

We don't know what her life was really like before the show, but she's definitely been sheltered and is naiive. She's got a lot to learn. Growing pains aren't just literal.

And how does one learn these things? For her, in hell? Trying and failing.

I said after the 1st 2 eps came out, Charlie's gonna hit, if not quite rock bottom, a new low this season. Some people only learn through failure.

Yes. She fucked up this season. Doesn't make her bad or badly written.

People go through rough periods. They say and do things they later regret for all sorts of reasons.

Also, Charlie has always had a blind spot in between wanting to help and listening to what a person really needs. With Angel in S1 was the same. She's growing. Letting Vaggi run the hotel is huge.

Vaggie outright says that Charlie is the one hurting the hotel, and she's right.

That doesn't make Charlie a horrible person.

She's naiive, constantly desperate to prove herself. There's no proof about Pen. She has finally achieved something and she can't prove she did.

Yes, she's a mess.

"Carmilla is right, I'm a moster and my dream is fucking dead." The longer you live the more you realize that grief isn't just about death. We grieve the loss of friends, dreams, innocence, etc. etc.

Yes, she made some massive mistakes, and no, I don't defend them in terms of her choices.

Charlie was having her own crashout. She was stuck in a spiral until Vaggi pulled her out of it. People deal with grief in all sorts of messed up ways, and Charlie's was a bit selfish, yes.

She's not perfect, by any means, and she's quite desperate in S2.

Viv is the CEO of Radioapple 🤣🤣 Don't know if she'll make it canon, but she loves them as much as we do and will at least give us lots of crumbs to live off.
