- why aren't abilities here? they need to be here. some pokemon legitimately need them to have any sort of niche, especially so in this battle system. stop filing them off

overall, I think this system needs a lot more time in the oven before it could MAYBE be a replacement for turn-based battles

how far away from the Pokemon it goes, detail extra effects, how fast the move actually comes out after pressing the button, etc. having to play guessing games doesn't work well when battles turn into slugfests, and it's too much to keep track of things in your head (especially as you change moves!)

- Protect and similar moves feel like they're meant only for enemy AI to use, being really inconsistent when the player uses them?
- moves desperately need more information conveyed about them. the cute 1-2 sentences don't cut it, they need to show things like the area of effect, (continued)

for negatives:
- man this battle system flies apart the minute you're in any actual important battles or the godawful endurance matches at the restaurants. you'd need WAY better control over your pokemon's movements and actions for this to be at all fun

for positives:
- this speeds up wild encounter battles and minor trainer battles a lot! which. is something, I guess!
- it makes certain moves more appealing! being able to put down a trap in the arena that does something is nifty!
