So this was a way terrifying way to start my morning 🙃

This book opened my eyes to a part of US history that is not taught in schools. Isabel’s writing is beautiful. I found myself stopping between sentences because I wanted to absorb what she said and how she said it. I think about this book and the stories in it everyday.
