Omg my heart😭🥹 my son is learning how to copy letters and loves doing it. He just brought me this note, copied from the message I made myself on my mirror. It hits different seeing it in his writing.

YOU choose what content you’re consuming. Be mindful of this as you scroll, and be intentional with who/what you follow and unfollow. This is self care - we have this power!

I am so excited for some much-needed alone time tonight. I’ve downloaded a new Freda McFadden audiobook to listen to while drinking tea and working on my cat/bookcase puzzle. The dream.

This time of year is rough. Be gentle with yourself, but also be intentional. Push yourself to do something out of your comfort zone for a bit here and there just to wake yourself up a bit, to feel more alive. Then you can crawl back into your cozy hibernation mode - it’ll feel so much sweeter.

I feel like the label of "self-help" as a book genre has a negative connotation anymore, but this could just be my own experience with it. For years I've heard jokes/seen eye-rolls when self-help books are mentioned. Why?

My hope with BlueSky is to connect with other writers. I love writing essays, am writing a memoir/self-help/life lessons book, and have been having fun dabbling in fiction lately.

I wrote 464 words last night. It’s not much, but it felt SO good after being out of the habit for so long👏🏻 this cozy criss-cross chair makes it so much more enjoyable to sit at my desk!

Fun fact: Did you know bears don’t sleep the whole time they’re hibernating in the winter? They’re just extremely slower, eat/do less, and stay in their cozy den most of the time.

I feel that on a spiritual level.

If all you want to do right now is be cozy at home, that’s not only normal, it’s natural. It is literally hibernation season - embrace it. Your mind & body need rest, and it’s okay to move at a slower pace for a while.

Nothing in nature grows all year - be patient with yourself.
