In some countries, you are supposed to clean your plate, and in others to leave a last bite to demonstrate that your hosts have fed you generously. In the latter countries, the last bit typically has a name along the lines of 'the shameful bit' which is what this was a list of.

After longtime Dancing with the Stars judge Len Goodman died, they renamed the mirrorball trophy in his honour. Still tacky AF, but now tacky in a more sentimental awwww sort of way.

Sandia is the Spanish word for watermelon, and the Sandia mountains may have that name because they look like cut watermelons or because a squash that looked like uncut watermelons grew nearby. Or because someone let a hungry toddler name a mountain range.

Stanley Milgram's study has a lot in common with the Stanford Prison Experiment, which is to say they both demonstrated how easily people can become cruel assholes and whether that's a statement about the subjects or the researcher is left as an exercise for the reader.
