O, America.
How we have fallen.

Becoming the very evil that, for decades since the '40s, we fought—though imperfectly—against.

A new class of billionaire robber barons, a religio-political ideology of might, and greedy "at all costs" colonialism has risen.

Farewell, Democracy.
Farewell, Liberty.

As businesses grow, things change: offers evolve, teams expand, clients get clearer about what they need.

But websites have this annoying quirk: they stay frozen in time.

The result isn’t a broken website. It’s a quietly ineffective one.

I'm issuing an official #tiktokchallenge.

Let's make "What Does the Fox Say" go viral in 2026.

The dance moves are perfect.
The words are ridiculous.
The theme is adorable.

Whose down?

The top song on my holiday playlist for 2025 is...

"Holiday" by #jimmyfallon with #thejonasbrothers and #llcoolj.

The perfect blend of cool vibes and nostalgia for the weary adult heart have a very trying year.

Happy holidays.

Watching the original animated "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" with the kids before they head to bed on this Christmas Eve.

Merry Chridtmas to all and to all a good night!

(Well, I'll be up for an extra hour or two wrapping presents.)

Enjoying the Christmas album by #JimmyFallon as we tidy the house for Christmas.

They kids were dancing around the living room having a blast.

I just hit "send" on the final Monday Mornings newsletter for 2025.

I intend to continue these moments of inspiration and conversation into the new year, but at a 2x month schedule.

What would YOU like to see in the first email of 2026?

Over the weekend, a very kind person shared a little holiday cheer with me, and I'm so very grateful.

I'm going to treat the kids to something special.

There is a lovely little cafe in town that services hot chocolate, tea, and cookies, and we haven't been yet.

Have you ever felt... mediocre?

I have many interests but nothing I'm a master at.

I have a lot of skills but not an expert in really any.

I have years of experience (in certain things) but not as deep as I should.

Always wondering: Am I good enough?

My midlife crisis is arriving early.

Saw this somewhere on BlueSky today, but I can't remember where. So here it is from the original source:

Oh, what a tangled web we weave,
When first we practise to deceive!

Fighting off the beginnings of a cold...

Have little energy for client work this afternoon.

I'm supposed to be setting up the Figma file right now for a redesign project with a fairly tight deadline.

And with out-of-state family visiting this weekend, I can't sneak a few Sunday hours.

😭

Health coverage in the United States is a nightmare right now.

As self-employed, I rely on the Marketplace for affordable. coverage for my family of five.

But now our coverage is at risk because subsidies are expiring and Congress literally waits until the last minute to address anything.

Monthly all with my besties last night.

All of us have faced some TOUGH challenges this year.

One paused travel nursing, but couldn't get a local job because she took 3 months off to care for her mom with cancer.

Another is a federal employee who went without pay during the shutdown.

Between paying bills
and coloring dinosaur rainbows,
between insurance forms
and soft carols drifting through the house.

Between long work hours
and one more round of board games,
between late-night upskilling
and rewinding our favorite movies again.

I borrowed "The Fox Wife" by Yangsze Choo from my local library yesterday with the intention of reading it this weekend.

Glanced at the first chapter and... stayed up until 3:30am to finish it in one go. It was really good.

It was a historical fantasy novel set around 1908 in China and Japan.

I love seeing the moon out during the day and then grow brighter as daylight fades.

It's science but it feels like magic.

The long holiday weekend came and went in a blur.

Worked on a premium website redesign project for a client a bit to keep on schedule, spent time with family, relaxed, and even went to see a movie.

Trying to keep the holiday season fun and light. Not stressful.

This adorable diluted calico joined our family at the beginning of July, and she's since become my shadow and cuddle buddy.

I've always been a dog-person but after our first calico Lucy (RIP) and now our dusty Sadie, I'm starting to change my mind.

I'm on a mission to bring a bit of whimsy back into my daily life.

The last 2-5 years have been... rough. And my joy has faded.

To remedy that, I'll be doing little things to bring the magic back and rekindle that spark.

For inspiration, share your favorite little act of whimsy.

So much is happening so quickly, here's your permission to turn it all off, grab a cup of tea or cocoa, and relax with your favorite book, album, show, movie, or hobby.

Take time for you this evening.

Unclench your jaw.
Breathe deep.
Seek peace.

I devoured @sarahbethdurst.bsky.social's magical "The Spellshop" and its spellbinding follow-up "The Enchanted Greenhouse" in three days.

The perfect whismical reads for a cozy November.

Both are now on my list of favorite books.

Now I'm hungry for honey cakes and raspberry jam.
