Just wrapped up "Dopesick" by @bethmacy.bsky.social. A painful, but important read. As a journalist and someone pursuing a graduate degree in public health, it combined two of my passions. Heartbreaking how something so ugly could happen in Appalachia, one of the most beautiful places.

Was at the Buc-ee’s today and the cashier ringing me up was talking to the cashier next to her - telling her how she takes half of her prescribed insulin per day over her other option - taking the full dose every other day.
