Same here. It’s why I wish they kept the consistent progression between the pre 2010s seasons of the anime and I feel like the series afterwards while imo has it’s moments (mainly XY/XYZ), I just feel like it was never quite the same since DP ended.

I’m really looking forward to seeing when he gets it. I’m trying not to spoil myself on how he does before I read it.

This is honestly a bizarre take imo. Yes Paul had some harsh training methods and was a massive dick for the first half of DP, but there are characters who have done much worse things in this series.
At least Paul didn’t potentially leave Chimchar to die unlike with Damien and Shamus.
