8 Brambling, 94 Chaffinch, 30 Goldfinch, 6 Siskin, 6 Bullfinch, 16 Starling, 3 Sparrowhawk, 2 GSW, 29 Skylark, 3 Redwing, 1150 Wood Pigeon, 4 Stock Dove and 3 SPOONBILL(!) south at 09:25. 1 Blackcap, 4 Chiff, 9 Goldcrest and 4 Firecrest in bushes. #devonbirds #ukbirding

Evening walk at Berry Head, no Pallas's in Quarry but 3 Chiffchaff, 2 Goldcrest, 1 Black Redstart and 4 Great White Egret flew N over headland! A Devon tick for me! #devonbirds #ukbirding

Heath Potter Wasp (Eumenes coarctatus) at Bovey Heath today. Six females together collecting clay at one point but at least ten individuals seen including several building pots! Also 3 Grayling.

Aish Tor, Dartmoor- 6 Grayling, 2 Clouded Yellow, 2 Holly Blue

Bolt Head this morning. 5 Small Pearl-bordered Fritillary, 2 Clouded Yellow, 3 Small Copper and several Silver-Y moths.
Also a Red Kite went low west over the headland.

Medley Bottom, East Sussex this morning.
Large numbers of butterflies of many species including Chalk Hill, Adonis, Brown Argus, Brown Hairstreak, Clouded Yellow, Brimstone and Essex Skipper.

12+ Brown Argus seen at Orley Common, Devon this afternoon with good numbers of Common Blue. Many Gatekeeper and Meadow Brown plus Brimstone and 3 Silver-washed Frit.

Some nice moths at Berry Head this morning. Highlights were 3 Six-belted Clearwing, egg laying Hummingbird Hawkmoth and many Six-spotted Burnet in the quarry. Thanks @devonshirenature.bsky.social for spotting the Clearwings!

Late morning at Long Woods nr Kingswear to look for White Admirals after seeing @devonshirenature.bsky.social post a few days ago. Again at least 20 White Admirals, 2 Silver-washed Frit and 10+ Purple Hairstreaks! @savebutterflies.bsky.social

GREAT SHEARWATER 1 S (10:35), GNDiver 4, Ad w Little Gull, large numbers of Fulmar, Kittiwake, Gannet and Guillemot.
Also Painted Lady and Ring Ouzel on the cliffs.
