For once, I saved that big reply into EditPad. But I had to add two paragraphs because of their stupidity.
!['Mainly disappointed. The petrol reimbursement has gone up once between 2006 and 2023. Clients no longer seemed to value our advice because they were getting it for free. Mentors did not seem to be valued.
'The computer system for mentor reports was really good at one point, then it turned to crap, and I can’t remember if a better one was brought back. Was that crap one a CEO vanity project? Because it was a supreme waste of time and money and obviously built by amateurs who had no idea how mentors worked.
'I used to attend mentor events and fellow mentors were pretty good—they were of good quality. The last one I attended were full of mentors that I considered average at business—none were willing to socialize and I had to make the effort. What happened to people? Is this NZ society now—timid, unsociable—or is it just the group?
'If that was typical, then I was disappointed both with the clients and the mentors. If I’m to give up my free time I want to feel part of a quality “club” and be respected and I wasn’t getting that at all from BMNZ.
'No one seem[ed] to have recorded my decision to quit and I was still asked to mentor someone a year later! I know you are stretched at the office but it was just another confirmation that I was right to leave. Felt like you were just ticking boxes. Sorry, I know someone at the research company is reading this and it is not your fault.'
