Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of perfect alternatives for Discord at this point in time. Every alternative is going to be missing some features or functionality. In all honesty, if you're wanting to jump ship, expect to have to jump to more than one alternative.

When I see a kanji (漢字) like 声 or 戸, I think « Oh no, that’s going to fall over! » for some reason.

I got a Nordic-ISO keyboard so I can type Ä and Ö now. All of my punctuation symbols are in completely different spots now. Also, I set up a macros so I can type ’ and 🙰 with the equivalent of Alt Codes for Unix-like systems. I care about inserting ’ instead of ' when appropriate and possible.
