Oil practice from this weekend. The under painting is done with acrylic and I started filling it in with oil. I’m learning to allow the history of the painting to peek through to create interest. It teaches me to put my OCD aside and focus on mark making. jlabbottfineart.com

Started this oil practice today but my body said it was time to call it so I cleaned up for the day.

Today’s oil painting practice and continued search for my ground color, which I believe I found in burnt sienna, which I’m not surprised. Burnt sienna has always been a favorite oil color.

Going on a journey to discover which color I enjoy painting on the most as I don’t like painting on a plain white canvas. So far I like red best but I’m going to try all the colors first before I make my full decision.

I don’t believe I can express in words how relieved and grateful and happy I am that my sister helped me find oil paints that don’t cause me migraines. I am over the moon with the colors she helped me pick out. They are gorgeous!!!
