We do agree on that scene as the crazed culmination of Jane defining her life pretty much exclusively through her job (which in the flash forward where are they now reunion/final scene at the end of the movie she is sort of trying to repair)

Thanks for the reply - we clearly part ways on the significance of splicing into the interview his fake tears as a window into his character, as he acknowledges later by saying he was promoted for doing that
